Let's Hook Rugs (Rittermere-Hurst-Field)
I designed and developed this web site for a retail/wholesale company that designs and sells rug hooking patterns and related products. This firm, traditionally a mail-order business, has found the web site to be very cost-effective in reaching numerous clients and increasing sales.
In the Fall of 2005, the site will undergo some minor design changes and a customized e-commerce solution will be launched.
Site features:
- A bold and colourful design with a consistent look and feel used throughout the site.
- Well-organized patterns and products, keeping in-line with printed materials.
- On-line order form, sent via email to the client.
- Ability to subscribe to Hooker's Hotline Express, an email-based newsletter sent out on a regular basis to a permission-based list of subscribers.
- List of upcoming rug hooking events submitted by visitors.

Email Marketing
Since the site was created, the client has sent out regular email-based newsletters to keep their customers informed on events and activities at the studio, new rug hooking products and patterns available on the site, and general rug hooking news.
Initially, the newsletters were sent out in plain-text format only. In the Fall of 2004, I customized a template and use Constant Contact to send out the emails in both HTML and plain text formats. The newsletter was designed to maintain a consistent look and feel with the web site.
