Beauty Spa
For several years, starting in 2000 until the end of 2004, I maintained a site for a beauty spa facility. When I took over the site, it contained many inconsistencies, broken (non-existent) links and links to incorrect pages. As such, I recoded several parts of the site using Active Server Pages (ASP) and Server-Side Includes (SSI) and fixed all coding errors and broken links. Over the years, the site underwent many revisions as the client added/removed various services offered.
In the summer of 2004, I redesigned and recoded the site to better meet current Web Standards and to improve usability, accessibility and search engine positioning.
Site features:
- A professional and attractive site, with numerous relevant photos, designed to best reflect the atmosphere of the beauty spa.
- A CSS-based, liquid site that works well in all modern browsers and at user's preferred screen resolutions.
- Careful attention was made to highlight all of the services available at the spa while making the site user-friendly for visitors and improve search engine ranking.
- Several web-based forms allowing users to submit questions to professional staff, book reservations, order a printed brochure and submit general information requests.
- Ability to subscribe to the monthly newsletter, managed by Constant Contact.

Email Marketing
Originally, this client was manually sending out their monthly newsletters via email with a MS Word attachment. This was extremely inefficient, as it was taking a couple of days' time to send, and many subscribers were complaining about the attachments.
In the Fall of 2004, I designed and created a newsletter template for use with Constant Contact that sends out the emails in both HTML and plain text formats.
