Web Standards Do – the Way of Web Standards (W3C)

Web Standards

This article is a humorous look at principles of Web quality, viewed through the filter of the Bushido, the Samurai’s code of Honor. The metaphor should be taken with a smile, the principles of Web Architecture it showcases, seriously. (Article dated: July 15, 2007)

The term web standards can mean different things to different people. For some, it is ‘table-free sites’, for others it is ‘using valid code’. However, web standards are much broader than that. A site built to web standards should adhere to standards (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, XSLT, DOM, MathML, SVG etc).
